Communion Time
The boys in Rooms 8,9 and 9 A have been working hard getting ready for their Communion Day on Saturday.
They were rehearsing in the church today and they were trying so hard to do everything right it was hard to get them to smile for this photo.
Well done boys! Ye were all brilliant. #gallery-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-1 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-1 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Talk on Internet Safety
Last minute reminder that the school will be hosting a talk on Internet Safety and Cyberbullying in the school.
The talk will take place Monday, May 19th at 7.30pm and has been organised in conjunction with our community garda.
There have been a number of incidents recently which have highlighted the need for this talk so we hope that parents will find it useful and informative…
Fairview Park on a sunny Summer’s day! Enjoy!
Leisure by W. H. Davies
WHAT is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare?—
No time to stand beneath the boughs, And stare as long as sheep and cows:
No time to see, when woods we pass, Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:
No time to see, in broad daylight, Streams full of stars, like skies at night:
No time to turn at Beauty’s glance, And watch her feet, how they can dance:
No time to wait till her mouth can Enrich that smile her eyes began?
A poor life this if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare.
Recycling Uniforms
As the end of the school year approaches, some boys especially the older boys are starting to grow out of some parts of their uniform. It seems such a waste of money to buy a new pair of trousers or new shirt or new jumper with only 6 weeks to go till the summer holidays. In the school we have a store of second hand uniforms -although we can’t gaurantee that we have all sizes. So if you do find that your child has grown out of a part of their uniform, you can get them to ask our HSCL teacher Mary if we can help in any way.
Also if your child has grown out of their uniform and it is in reasonable condition, at the end of June, you can donate it to the school for other families to avail of.
Reminder about Tests
This week most classes will be doing their Sigma and Micra maths and reading tests. It is very important that your son is in every day this week.
Ms Stewart and Mr McGuinness will be doing the tests with their classes next week.
The results of these tests will be included in your son’s summer report.
