Food, Clothes, Toys Collection and Christmas Cards Sale
Dear Parents, Guardians, Grandparents and Friends,
It’s that time of year again when we do our annual collection for the Aoibhneas Women’s Centre in Coolock.
Food and Clothes and Toy Collection
Christmas is a happy time for most people but unfortunately not for everyone especially for women and children who need to make use of sheltered accommodation. This will be the tenth year to run this collection and every year you have been extremely generous. Thank You.
We realise that things have become tough for everyone but if you can, we are asking you to donate food such as pasta, rice, biscuits, packets of soup, canned food to the women’s refuge.
Other items that would be welcomed would be new children’s clothes and new toys.
There will be boxes inside the school underneath the Christmas Tree if you wish to send something in.
Christmas Cards
The 6th class boys were and still are doing their bit the past few weeks making recycled Christmas cards. These cards will be on sale from myself on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the next couple of weeks.
The cards will cost 30c each.
All money raised will go to the women’s refuge.
A BIG THANK YOU to all the 6th class boys and the Secondary School Shopkeepers for all their hard work .
Thanking you in advance for your continued support and generosity.

Trip to Aviva & Visit from U21 Man City Player
Sixth class boys got an extensive tour of the Aviva Stadium on Tuesday. Not only did the boys learn about the history and the maintenance of the stadium, they also got to sit in the interviewee seats in the Media Room, experience the players’ changing-rooms and feel what it’s like to sit in the dug out. The trip finished in the boxing area.
On the same day, the boys were lucky enough to get a visit from a former pupil and current under-21 Manchester City player, Jack Byrne. Jack patiently answered all of the boys’ questions and judging by some of them, there are definitely a few journalists in the making! He also posed for some photos. Jack is definitely a role model of how mixing talent with hard work and lots of practice is a recipe for success. We wish Jack all the best for the future and are very grateful to him for taking the time out to visit.
