Room 15 take off to the Moon

We built very cool rockets recently. I built mine with a big bottle and some cardboard. After that we made a backdrop which was really awesome. Next, we painted them so they look really cool now. We learnt the rhyme with teacher which helps us to remember to the order of the planets. The rhyme goes like this:      My very easy method just speeds up naming planets.  Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto.

It was very interesting. We also learnt about the sun and the moon. We launched our rockets and they were all awesome.IMG_1942IMG_1944IMG_1943IMG_1948  By      Jack McDonnell

Inné bhí “Tráth na gCeist” againn sa halla agus bhí an-spórt ar fad ag na leannaí go léír. Thaithin sé linn ar fad. . . Caifear buíochas mór a ghabháíl le Miss Quinlan a d’eagraigh na himeachtaí seo dúinn. . .

Yesterday we had an all Irish quiz in the hall! It was a fantastic success and any-passersby would have been amazed at our fluency and our attitude toward our ancient native language!!! Maith sibh ar fad. . .

Mr. McDonald was hard at work correcting and keeping a vigilant eye out for any caimiléireacht, or cheating!

Bhí sé go fíordheas na buachaillí ar fad a fheiscint agus iad ag caint agus ag éisteacht go géar lena chéíle. . . Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this quiz is that we had roughly 70 boys totally enjoying themselves through Irish ! Sure we might have made a few little grammar mistakes, perhaps our spellings were a little bit off at times but. . . Is fearr Gaeilge bhriste ná Béarla cliste!

Watch this space and this website for more info on all our Seachtain Na Gaeilge Activities. Slán agus Beannacht!
