The boys from Joeys got a great  surprise this afternoon, A live music-packed performance of the Wizard of Oz. The boys clapped, sang and even danced along to a wonderful show.

Future teachers in the making!

Room 7 have started  paired reading with 2nd class. The older boys pick a passage from a novel or a short story that they have enjoyed and share it with the boys from Mr. Gillespe’s class. The younger boys then show and explain a piece of  written work from that week that they  have  worked particularly hard on. Great work from both classes!

Put a Spring in your step

Now that January is nearly out of the way, starting tomorrow, the parents walking group is back in action. Every Wednesday morning, we will be meeting at 9am at the front door of the school and going for a nice, long, brisk one-hour walk. We arrive back at the school at 10am. There is no cost just a bit of exercise and good chat. Hopefully you can join us one of the Wednesday mornings.

Recycling Old Christmas Cards

Now that Christmas is over and the tree has come down, many people are left with a lot of Christmas cards that may end up in the bin (the recycling bin hopefully). If you wish, instead of filling up your bin, you can send the cards into me and I can use them for our Christmas cards project for 6th Class next year. You may prefer to cut off the half of the cards with the written message but don’t worry, if you don’t have the time, I will do this before passing the cards onto the boys.

Thanks, Mary, Home School Liasion Teacher
