Book Launch – One book One Community

Children met with other schools for the launch of the One Book-One Community project, were Joey’s 6th class and schools in close proximity to Joey’s all read the same novel. The Novel chosen was called “Trash” and different assignments and competitions were organised. These included, designing a bookmark, an alternative cover and taking part in an inter schools quiz on the novel.

Food, Clothes, Toys Collection and Christmas Cards Sale

Dear Parents, Guardians, Grandparents and Friends,

It’s that time of year again when we do our annual collection for the Aoibhneas Women’s Centre in Coolock.

Food and Clothes and Toy Collection

Christmas is a happy time for most people but unfortunately not for everyone especially for women and children who need to make use of sheltered accommodation.  This will be the tenth year to run this collection and every year you have been extremely generous.  Thank You.

We realise that things have become tough for everyone but if you can, we are asking you to donate food such as pasta, rice, biscuits, packets of soup, canned food to the women’s refuge.

Other items that would be welcomed would be new children’s clothes and new toys.

There will be boxes inside the school underneath the Christmas Tree if you wish to send something in.

Christmas Cards

The 6th class boys were and still are doing their bit the past few weeks making recycled Christmas cards.  These cards will be on sale from myself on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the next couple of weeks.

The cards will cost 30c each.

All money raised will go to the women’s refuge.

A BIG THANK YOU to all the 6th class boys and the Secondary School Shopkeepers for all their hard work .

Thanking you in advance for your continued support and generosity.
