The boys from 6th class and Room 9A went on a visit to Bull Island recently.  Pat who has been working on the island for 28 years showed the boys  a slide show and  talked about biodiversity, the creatures and plant life in the area. Afterwards the boys got to have a close look at some of these creatures on display and took in some close up views through the binoculars in the visitor centre.  Everyone was amazed how lucky we are to have such a unique and varied environment on our doorstep.

Watch out as we plan to start our wormery in the next few weeks.

The Joeys boys are off again! On Thursday, as part of Green School Flag for Biodiversity, the whole school will be taking a walk down the seafront to have a close look at biodiversity in our local community. In case you were wondering biodiversity is a term used to describe all the living things on earth, from the little flowers to the birds to the animals and even us! So keep an eye out on Thursday at around eleven – you may spot some of our boys getting close to nature.

The new soccer season is upon us. The lads have being training for the last couple of weeks in the yard honing their skills ahead of the first game.

Many thanks to the Parents, local businesses and staff who baked or gave cakes, buns and lots of other treats for our cake sale. Also thanks to the Parents who came to our fundraiser. It was a great success. The pupils in sixth class were helped by the boys and adults in Mr. Crotty’s and Ms. Starrett’s classes. Huge thanks to everyone.
