Hill Street Family Resource Centre’s Chinese New Year Community Celebration

Hill Street Family Resource Centre, in collaboration with our Chinese Families, would like to invite you to celebrate Chinese New Year in our Centre on Hill Street, Dublin 1,on Saturday 13th February from 11.00-14.00. This is a family event, and  all are welcome! Come along and sample Chinese festive foods, enjoy music performances, participate in Art and Craft activities such as monkey mask, kite, lantern and red envelope (Huan Bao) making; learn about Chinese fruits and vegetables, Herbal Medicine, Feng Shui  and what your Chinese zodiac sign is.

Pancake Tuesday in 3rd and 4th class

What a wonderful day around Joeys with the beautiful smell of pancakes wafting around the school.

In Room 8, with the assistance  of Rachel (the pancake specialist) we made our very own delicious pancake. IMG_4382[1] IMG_4383[1]IMG_4373[1] IMG_4380[1]

This is the recipe followed by the boys

Pancake Recipe

Ingredients

  • 100g Plain Flour
  • 300ml Milk
  • 1 regular egg
  • Teaspoon of butter

Toppings

  • Sugar
  • Fruit
  • Lemon
  • Chocolate

Method:

  1. Heat pan on low heat
  2. Sive the flour
  3. Crack the egg and whisk it.
  4. Add melted butter and milk to the whisked egg.
  5. Add the mixture to the flour and mixed well.
  6. Pour gently to the hot pan and spread
  7. Enjoy!
