Watch out for the Lions in 2nd Class!

After completing a cloze procedure all about lions,  in Friday’s Art and Craft lesson the boys had to create their own lions using paper plates.  All agreed that Ms. Mc Bride’s lion was far too cute so the boys’ task was to create a scary lion.  And they did by adding in slanted green eyes, huge manes and pointed fangs.  Mr. Gillen got a fright when he visited the room and saw a row of terrifying lions looking back at him!  The boys worked really hard at addition in maths, were able to identify Joeys on Google maps, started knitting, drew scenes from the story of Setanta and enjoyed What’s the time Mr. Wolf as Ghaeilge.

We look after our school environment

On Wednesday, the boys in Room 8 (3rd and 4th class) took it upon themselves to clean and tidy the school environment.

As a green school, the Joey boys work hard to improve our school environment, keep it litter free and recycle our waste.

With gloves, bin bags, shovels and yard brushes, we swept, shovelled and picked up waste around the school entrance. It was a lot of work but thanks to the boys in Room 8, the school environment is extremely clean and looking fantastic.
