Crummy’s crackers off to a flier

On a beautiful sun drenched September afternoon Mr Crummy led the troops into battle against a very strong Virgin Mary Ballymun side. Joeys got off to a slow start with Ballymun scoring a well worked goal coming from the throw-in. From the subsequent kick out Adam Rowe won a hard fought ball and with a quick foot pass got Lewis Skelly on his bike towards goal. Skelly was brought down and from the resulting free he picked out our dominating full forward Scott lawless with an elegant flick lawless got joeys back on level terms. Scott lawless was to play a prominent part in the first half scoring one more goal and causing havoc for the Ballymun back-line. Adam Rowe, Evan white and Lewis Skelly drove joeys forward with class and guile helped by the Trojan work  from the back line of Lewis Ralph, Ross King, Ben Gaskin. and Luke Cahill. Mr Crummy had a roll on roll off sub policy which worked in the lads favor as Joeys got stronger and stronger. Half time came and with a great encouraging speech from Sir the lads sprinted in to their positions. The joeys boys were chomping at the bit for the second half, from the trow in  won by Evan white a long ball in to Cameron walker and with the coolest of finishes the joeys lead was extended. As the two teams swapped points Joeys needed somebody to grab the game by the scruff of the neck up stepped Lewis Skelly,  Ross king, Scott lawless, Evan white and Adam Rowe who chipped in with goals to kill of the opposition.  A late rally from Ballymun all in vain as Joeys added one more goal from hat-trick hero Scott lawless.  A loud shrill of the whistle from referee Colm Mc Carthy  Joeys had gained their first victory of the new Gaelic football season.
