RECRUITMENT FOR CE YOUTH LEADER POSTS

SWAN Youth Service is based in the north east inner city, Dublin.  The service participants aged 10-21 years come from the catchment areas of Northwall and North Strand.   We engage young people through group work, individual work, streetwork, outreach, occasional residential work and drop-ins.

We engage young people in an informal education process.  We aim to broaden young people’s experiences, by opening up new activities to them, and by assisting them in their search to find what it is that they are really good at.  We act as a support to our members through their experiences. We advocate for and with the young people.

We are currently seeking to recruit a Community Employment(CE) Youth leader (maternity cover).  Applicants must be eligible for a CE scheme.  The CE youth leader’s role is to co-work with youth workers on SWAN’s various programs, and will be supported in access to relevant training.  Voluntary experience by a candidate would be an advantage.  There are no formal qualifications for the post required.

Employment commences pending Garda vetting.  The post involves evening and some weekend work.

Deadline for application is Monday 24th February 2014.  Applications to be posted to:

Team Leader,

SWAN Youth Service,

St. Agatha’s Hall,

Dunne st.,

Dublin 1.
